Sometimes, lower back pain kidney problems can feel like something else. This is why it is so important to understand the warning signs of kidney issues. If you are having pain in your lower back on either side of your spine, it is indicative of a kidney problem. Sometimes only one kidney may be affected. Once the problem with the kidney has been treated, the pain should go away. Often this is done via the removal of kidney stones or the treating of infection with antibiotics. Your doctor will perform a thorough evaluation and diagnose whether or not the pain is due to your kidneys.
Of course, back pain isn't always due to kidney issues. You may have injured your lower back from lifting improperly or playing sports. Even bad posture during work and sleep can cause back pain in the lumbar region. Luckily these causes can be remedied without the need for surgery. Rest, heat, cold, pain medications, exercise, physical therapy and chiropractic adjustment are examples of commonly utilized treatments for lower back pain caused by injury or strain. Some people even choose alternative healing methods such as hydrotherapy, acupuncture, acupressure, and massage. Many practitioners these days combine these therapies with traditional therapies for the optimum effect.
Women often experience lower back pain due to gynecological problems. Endometriosis, for example, may cause pain in the lower region of the back. Urinary tract infections may also cause discomfort in this area. Even menstrual cramps can cause pain that is not only felt in the abdomen but the back as well. Then there is the pain associated with pregnancy. Back pain is a common complain of most expectant mothers. As with all causes of back pain, the problem should be diagnosed by your doctor. Once the problem has been determined a treatment plan can be devised.
Lower back pain kidney issues are not as common as other causes of back pain. However, kidney problems can cause lower back pain. This is why you should seek medical attention at the onset of the pain. The longer you wait, the worse the problem could become. The worse the problem becomes, the harder it is to treat. Like with every medical issue, early detection of the problem often allows for the most effective treatment.
